Raaul is a naturopath and colonic hydrotherapist whose latest programme builds on the success of his well-known north London centre, the Wellbeck Clinic. He was named one of Vogue's top nutritionists in 2000. He's too discreet to name names, but actors, politicians and celebrities beat a path to his door and brought him an international clientele.
In 1994 Raaul started running detox breaks at luxurious Hetland Hall in Scotland.
As word of his results spread through press reports, television and (his favourite route)
recommendations from satisfied clients, he found himself with little time for holidays but an
increasing belief that a balmy climate could aid the cleansing process. Then he hit on the perfect
solution: bring his work to the island of Mallorca (Majorca), where the atmosphere promotes
relaxation and even a serious detox programme has all the charm of a holiday in the sun.
Raaul spent four years studying medicine at the Royal Free Hospital in London before his growing interest in the holistic approach made him switch to complementary therapies. He obtained a BSc in microbiology with business studies from London University, then went on to become a registered colonic hydrotherapist and to take a diploma in naturopathy at Westminster University. A member of the The Association and Register of Colonic Hydrotherapists and the British Complementary Medicine Association, Raaul is also qualified to carry out blood tests for allergies.
Raaul's colonic hydrotherapy practice in north London has attracted clients from around the world. His work has been covered in newspapers and magazines including The Sunday Times, The Daily Telegraph, Vogue, Health & Fitness, Prima and GQ Active. He gives lectures at universities, nursing schools and health centres and has appeared on BBC1 with Ruby Wax in "Ruby's Health Quest".
